Actions such as pressing one of the controller shoulder buttons while doing regular tricks can put an interesting spin to them, increasing your score even further. This is particularly handy for trick-based races, so you can make the most out of each ramp or jump. This page explains how to do tricks in Riders Republic, as well as how to whip, tailwhip and superman. If you’re looking for more help with Riders Republic, we have pages on crossplay, how to get the wingsuit and relic locations. On this page: There isn’t much to be said in terms of controls before seeing the full list in the next section - that being said, it’s important to note the difference between preset configurations when it comes to controls. For starters, opting for the Racer controls will serve you well. But in order to do tricks in Riders Republic, you should use the Trickster controls. The key difference is in the name alone - the first is better for normal races, allowing you to do tricks using the face buttons while manually controlling the camera using the right analogue stick. Trickster controls, on the other hand, allow you to use the right analogue stick for tricks directly. This allows for a lot more freedom and, once you get used to it, the switch is fairly seamless. Regardless of your choice, you can switch between them in the options menu at any time, so don’t be afraid to experiment. Landing mode, the other main preset configuration, also comes into play when you’re doing tricks in Riders Republic. Opting for the Auto Landing option is best at first until you get the hang of things, but it’s worth noting that you will receive less points. Manual Landing is the way to go for more complex tricks, but of course this demands for you to time your rotation in order to land correctly. Depending on how that goes, you’ll be scored between bad and perfect. In summary, opting for both Trickster and Manual Landing modes will allow you to perform some of the most complex tricks in Riders Republic with more freedom and precision. But since you can switch between all of them at any time, don’t hesitate to do so in case it gets too complex or you’re just more comfortable with the other presets. After you’ve decided for control presets, it’s time to see what tricks are in store. Some of these are fairly easy to pull off, while others require for more precision. At times, it’s less about the button prompts and more about how you can land on the floor, or keep on connecting the combo, that adds difficulty.
